Calcium hydroxylapatite filler
Radiesse in Mansfield, TX
An FDA-approved calcium hydroxylapatite filler for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the Radiesse Facial Balancing signature package.
What it is
Radiesse is an injectable implant made of calcium hydroxylapatite particles suspended in a gel carrier; one version, Radiesse (+), also contains the numbing agent lidocaine. It is FDA-approved for placement beneath the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. The manufacturer notes that a change can be visible immediately after treatment, and the labeling describes the effect continuing over the following weeks.
Who it’s for
- You have moderate to severe facial wrinkles or folds, such as the lines that run from nose to mouth
- You understand some change may show right after treatment, and that more than one session is sometimes needed
- None of the conditions listed under risks below applies to you
Our approach
Assessment at a free consultation
Consultations are free: your face is assessed and your goals discussed before a Radiesse plan is suggested.
Placed beneath the skin
Radiesse is injected below the skin’s surface by Monica Rocha, BSN-RN.
More only if needed
The labeling notes that additional treatments may be necessary depending on the area and the person, so any follow-up is decided case by case.
Radiesse Facial Balancing

Typical downtime
The labeling describes injection reactions as mainly short-term — bruising, redness, and swelling lasting under seven days.
Risks and side effects
- Common: bruising, redness, swelling, pain, and itching at the injection sites
- Rare but serious: if Radiesse enters a blood vessel it can block blood flow, causing blindness or other lasting or short-term sight loss, a stroke, or loss of skin tissue; this needs immediate care
- Lumps, bumps, or nodules, product moving from where it was placed, and delayed inflammation near the site, any of which can need treatment
- Like any procedure that breaks the skin, a risk of infection
- Radiesse shows up on CT scans and may appear on X-rays, so tell your doctors and radiologists you have had it
- Not used in people with bleeding disorders, a history of severe allergies, or an allergy to its components, or, for Radiesse (+), to lidocaine
Aftercare
- For about 24 hours, and until any swelling and redness has gone, skip strenuous exercise
- Over the same period, keep the area out of extensive sun and heat
Individual results vary.
Common questions
Radiesse FAQs
What is Radiesse made of?
Tiny calcium hydroxylapatite particles in a gel carrier made of glycerin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and sterile water. Radiesse (+) adds lidocaine for comfort.
Will I see a difference right away with Radiesse?
The manufacturer says a change can be visible right after treatment. The labeling adds that the effect continues over several weeks, and some people need more than one session.
What are the side effects of Radiesse?
Expect possible bruising, redness, swelling, pain, or itching where it was placed, mostly short-lived. Serious problems from injection into a blood vessel are rare, and they are covered with you before you decide.
Who should not get Radiesse?
Anyone with a bleeding disorder, a history of anaphylaxis or several severe allergies, or an allergy to its ingredients. People allergic to lidocaine or similar anesthetics should not have Radiesse (+).
Can Radiesse be used in the lips?
No. Its labeling says safety and effectiveness in the lips have not been established, and nodules have been reported there. Lip filler at 4ME Aesthetics uses hyaluronic-acid filler instead.
Does Radiesse show up on X-rays?
It can. The particles are radiopaque, so they are clearly visible on CT scans and may be visible on plain X-rays; mention it before any imaging.
How long does Radiesse last?
It differs between people, so we don’t promise a timeframe. What to expect for your own face is something to raise at your consultation.
How much does Radiesse cost in Mansfield?
Radiesse is $750 per syringe, and Radiesse Facial Balancing — up to 3 syringes — is $1,999 as a signature package.
